The past days have been trying times here at WM Martin Transport. As some of you may know, our dear friend and co-worker, Brien Pursell, passed away in a tragic accident on Monday, November 21, 2016. He was 58. Many of you knew Brien well, having worked with him this year. He was the leader of our Dispatch Team and the backbone to our Operations Department.
Brien was a wonderful man, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife (Nancy), his two daughters (Meghan and Kristen), his two sons-in-law, and his grandson and granddaughter. His legacy is one of determination, compassion, grace, and humility. Brien inspired many by competing in several marathons, triathlons, and cycling races. His passion for the youth moved him to lead several community initiatives to help and mentor high school students. Many young men and women have had their lives changed because of the direct influence of Brien Pursell, extending his legacy beyond his family.
But most of all, Brien was a faithful follower of Jesus. He didn’t just speak good words, he lived them. He served faithfully in his church and his community. He was faithful to his wife and loving to his children. Brien loved others and served them in humility. His unwavering faith in the promises of Jesus tell us that we will see him again someday.
Several of you have already requested addresses for cards and sympathies. The family would like instead of flowers for the funeral for you to donate to the Tour de Cure - American Diabetes Association, which Brien rode his bike every year and helped contribute to the cure for diabetes. If you wish to reach out to the Pursell family, you can send correspondence to our Florida office at
6565 North W St
Pensacola, FL 32505
Optionally, you may send letters and notes to Human Resources at email@example.com. These will be delivered to the family.
We have already received so much love and support from you. Your kind words and prayers have helped us get through this difficult time. We appreciate your help as we continue to adjust and recover from this loss. Over the next weeks, our team will be making the necessary adjustments to continue serving you in the capacity that Brien was so equipped to do. We thank you for partnering with us and making this team a family.
